ABOUT ABOUT

The 6th Annual Eugene–Springfield Community Production of The Vagina Monologues

The Vagina Monologues is an award-winning play based on V-Day Founder/playwright Eve Ensler's interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace, the piece celebrates women’s sexuality and strength. Through this play and the liberation of this one word, countless women throughout the world have taken control of their bodies and their lives. For more than a decade, The Vagina Monologues has given voice to experiences and feelings not previously exposed in public and brought a deeper consciousness to the conversation around ending violence against women and girls.

Sexual Assault Support Services (SASS) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, tax-exempt organization.  SASS has been Lane County’s primary sexual assault responder since 1991 and is one of only two agencies in Oregon focused solely on providing services to survivors of sexual violence.  The mission of SASS is to provide services to survivors of past and present sexual violence, and to change societal conditions that allow oppression, especially sexual violence, to exist.  SASS’ services include a 24-hour crisis support line, in-person support and advocacy, legal and medical accompaniment and advocacy, and support groups.  Additionally, SASS works to create social change through prevention education, community collaboration, organizing, and outreach.
